Myotonia congenita (Fainting Lamb)

We have come across some "Fainting Lambs" over the last two lamb marking seasons. Have you seen this before?

Myotonia congenita in sheep causes episodes of muscular rigor following various stimuli. Episodes are transitory and do not harm the animal. We tend to see it in lambs at marking when they are being mustered/yarded.

We are keen to hear from anyone who may have noticed this in their flock. All information will remain confidential. We would like to be able to DNA sample (50K Genomic) the lambs and identify the sires. Please get in contact with Sally or Lucinda if you are able to help.
