Measure to Manage - Measure to Breed

eID technology has been around for a while now and is increasingly being used by livestock producers to assist with breeding and production decisions.

The use of eID (Electronic Identification) enables efficient identification of individual animals throughout their lifetime.

Being able to accurately capture data, easily manage and interpret the results are core fundamental requirements to getting a return on your eID system investment.

Our course focuses on assisting you increase your understanding of the eID technology to be able to capture, manage and use the data on individual animals to make more informed selection, animal husbandry and feed allocation decisions.

  • No, the first course modules have been developed at an introductory level and aim to help you select the best hardware for your farming system and the first steps to take.

  • Our online course option is currently in development and will allow you to learn at your own pace. With video based learning and module work to complete, you can fit the course in and around your management calendar.

  • The face-to-face courses are currently on offer. The link to register for the next eID Workshop are located under the “Upcoming eID Workshops - 2024” section, above.

    The online eID course option is still under development but will be available soon.

  • The course content is broken up into learning modules which will be covered throughout the one day workshop.

    The workshop coordinator will step you through the content and then you will have the opportunity to assess the practical implementation on your own farm through the workshop activities.

    Each module will have a video-based learning element as well as activities to complete before unlocking the next module.
